A new-build flat is an apartment within a recently constructed residential development designed and built using contemporary construction methods.

New-build flats are common across newer Edinburgh developments and regenerated parts of the city. They typically have very different construction, layouts and building services from traditional tenement or Georgian properties.

Alterations often focus on improving storage, fitted joinery, kitchens, bathrooms and interior layouts rather than restoring historic fabric.
