Semi-Detached House

A semi-detached house is one of a pair of adjoining homes that share a common party wall but have their own separate entrances and external space.

Semi-detached houses are found across many of Edinburgh’s residential neighbourhoods and range from substantial period properties to later 20th-century and contemporary homes.

Their layouts vary significantly according to age and architectural style, but many provide scope for internal reconfiguration, kitchen extensions, garage conversions, loft conversions and alterations to improve connections between living spaces and gardens.

Renovation can range from individual kitchen or bathroom projects to complete property refurbishment and structural remodelling.
