Bi-Fold Doors

Bi-fold doors are a set of hinged door leaves that fold and slide to one side or both sides of an opening.

Bi-fold doors can create a wide connection between a room and outdoor space. The leaves require stacking space when open, and the frame and track need accurate installation for smooth movement.

In Edinburgh extensions and kitchen renovations, opening width, head support, threshold drainage and exposure to wind should be resolved before choosing a system. The largest possible opening is not always the most practical layout for everyday access.

The design also needs to account for insulation, glazing, security and the structure above the opening. The doors are one part of the whole wall and weatherproofing detail.
